Greetings from the Werretts
Thank you for the invitation to come and join the leadership team at Baginton Road, we have really loved the fellowship we have experienced with people over the past few months. We will be coming to Coventry on a regular basis and Simon will be preaching once a month. The dogs like walking and running at the War Memorial Park especially as the café does ‘dog sausages’ (not to mention nice cakes for the humans!)
Although, we have had a house in our Norfolk village for over 16 years, we are still considered as ‘outsiders’ and unless we reach the age of ‘Methuselah’ (Gen 5:27) will never probably be considered as “insiders” or local. Often the fear of ‘insiders’ is that ‘outsiders’ will come and change things and take over. Our vision of leadership is working as a team, building on each other’s strengths. When Jesus chose the twelve disciples, they were all different, bringing diverse gifts to the table. Letty Russell in her book Church in the Round: Feminist Interpretation of the Church speaks of all being welcome at the “common table” to enjoy “table talk and hospitality” as “in that way they become participants of their journey of faith and struggle for the mending and liberation of creation”.
We are all at different stages of our “journey of faith” and part of Sunday mornings is providing fuel for the journey. Simon is always happy to receive sermon ideas so if you have a particular question, you would like addressed, or a Bible book/chapter you are struggling to understand or even a subject you want developed then please let Simon know. It might be we can cover some through Connections articles. We hope to see you over the autumn period and pray that God will bless all the ministry and activities at Baginton Road.
